You are welcome here
Due to the current pandemic dealing with COVID19, the coronavirus,
the eldership has determined that it would be in our best interest
to postpone services and gatherings at the building until May 24, 2020.
Good Morning brothers and sisters.
Rick, Bryon and myself met yesterday and decided that since there has been some easing of restrictions that we wait at least two weeks to see if there is a spike in corona cases before reopening the building for worship services. Tentatively we are shooting for the 24th. We will meet again before that time to discuss further.
We discussed what that would look like if we did reopen and areas to consider. Below are a few of the considerations. I encourage each and every one of you to send comments and thoughts.
If Social Distancing and masks are still an issue and we can have no more than 25 meeting, according to the state, what would we do. Discussion related to this was that while the state indicates this is their rule for businesses and other gatherings they will not tell faith-based organizations what to do but they highly encourage compliance with social distancing and masks.
One suggestion, if we do not just reopen and do our best to socially distance, was to offer two services in which we would try to limit our numbers at the building to 25.
It should also be understood that some have expressed being uncomfortable with returning at this time for fear of catching or spreading this virus. It is not our desire to make anyone uncomfortable but to provide those that are not uncomfortable the opportunity to worship together at the building. Arrangements will be made to live feed the entire service to those who remain at home.
Initially we will not be having classes or lunch inside the building for a while, only worship service. If the opportunity arises where we can meet outside for a cookout we feel we could due this in a responsible manner.
To facilitate the serving of communion I have purchased a case of combined cups with the bread and fruit of the vine in one individual container so they are not touched by multiple people in preparation or distribution.
We will have to keep a stock of cleaning supplies to wipe down frequently used surfaces after each service.
Many have asked what they should do with contributions they are holding. We discussed this and suggest you either mail them to the church mailbox or hold until you return to services.
I do hope you all understand that we do miss each and every one of you and desire to be together physically to worship God and encourage each other. Please let us know of any suggestions or concerns you have as soon as possible.
